This annual cycle occurred normally, although without clearly distinct seasons. The February dry spells were short, making the burning of cleared primary forest difficult, which may have had an impact on the way the new primary forest gardens were managed.

The reproduction of fish, amphibians and insects began at the end of the Pit Viper (Anã) constellation, more precisely at the Tail of the Pit Viper (Aña Pihkorõ) from 20 December. More reproduction occurred during the Flood of the Armadillo (Pamõ) after 25 January.

The most intense phase of the Summer of the Peach Palm, with the river level falling to its lowest point, occurred on 23 February.

The Floods of the Jacundá and the Shrimp followed with more reproductive activity. The Jaguar occurred with the river half full and a marked rise in its level, with more reproduction after 23 April.

Finally the high water period brought the highest water levels of this three year period from May to July with extensive areas of flooded forest (igapó) and upstream fish migration.
